Vaishali. Now taking new vehicles out of the showroom without High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) can lead to heavy fine. The Transport Department has issued strict instructions and made it clear that vehicles without number plates will not be allowed on the road. In a special operation conducted by Motor Vehicle Inspector Rakesh Kumar in Vaishali district, many new vehicles were found without HSRP and registration, on which a fine of up to ₹ 5000 was imposed. Also, the user ID of the concerned dealer was closed and it has been recommended to cancel the trade license.

The Transport Department has given clear instructions to all District Transport Officers (DTOs) and Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVIs) that under no circumstances should a vehicle without a number plate leave the showroom. If any such vehicle is found running on the road, then not only the vehicle owner but also the vehicle dealer and concerned officials will be held responsible for it. If departmental negligence is found, action will also be taken against the concerned officers.

Steps have been taken for road safety
This strict rule has been implemented keeping road safety in mind. Identification of vehicles without number plates becomes extremely difficult after road accidents, which hinders investigation. Therefore HSRP has been made mandatory. All vehicle dealers have been instructed to deliver the vehicle only after the registration process is completed and the number plate is installed. Under the campaign, many vehicles have been seized and fines have been collected from the vehicle owners.
