This is the country’s longest range scooter, 400 km range in a single charge, know the price

New Delhi. Simple Energy has launched the second generation model of its Simple One electric scooter, the changes made in which are not just minor updates. The new Gen 2 model is not limited to just minor improvements, but is the result of four years of in-house research and development. Its price in the initial offer has been kept at Rs 1,39,999. The base Simple One Gen 2 is now lighter, more powerful and equipped with features than before, which gives a new dimension to the expectations of electric two-wheeler buyers in this price range.

What are the differences?
The biggest difference between Gen 1.5 and Gen 2 is the reduction in weight. The new model is 8 kg lighter, reducing its curb weight to 129 kg. Even though this change may seem minor, every kilo makes a difference in the performance and efficiency of the electric scooter. A lighter vehicle runs on less energy, which also improves the range. Apart from this, the under-seat storage has also increased to 35 litres, which meets the real-life luggage needs.

Gen 2 performance
Gen 2 is also much ahead in terms of performance. In its high-power variant, the peak power of the motor has reached 8.8 kW, while the torque has increased to 72 Nm. There is a big improvement in acceleration as compared to Gen 1. In the top variant, it can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.55 seconds, which is very important for fast driving in the city. Top speed goes up to 115 kmph, although most people on Indian roads won’t make full use of it.

three different options
Simple Energy has introduced its portfolio with three different options. Simple One Gen 2 comes in two battery variants. IDC certified range of 236 km is available with 4.5 kWh battery, which is priced at Rs 1,69,999. At the same time, the range increases to 265 km in the 5 kWh variant, which is priced at Rs 1,77,999. If one wants a cheaper option, the simple OneS Gen 2 has a 3.7 kWh battery, giving a range of 190 km and is priced at Rs 1,49,999. Apart from this, there is also a flagship variant called Simple Ultra, which has the largest battery of 6.5 kWh and gives an IDC range of 400 km.

These features are also present
The cabin experience of the scooter has also been completely redesigned. The Simple One Gen 2 has a 7-inch touchscreen dashboard, while the OneS gets a non-touch display. Both have LTE connectivity and Bluetooth with 5G e-SIM, which makes call management easy while riding. The interface runs on Android 12, supports over-the-air updates and customizable themes. The Simple One Gen 2 also has in-built navigation, making it not just a transportation device but a connected mobility device.
