Waste to Wealth Mission: A technical team from the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India along with senior representatives of East Delhi Municipal Corporation and Central Road Research Institute visited the three sites. But for this, Kalyan Puri has been finalized as a pilot project road. The pilot project is being developed under Sapanda Mission from the waste of the office of the Chief Scientific Advisor.

New Delhi. Now East Delhi Municipal Corporation will prepare a road from the waste of Ghazipur Landfill Site. Eastern Corporation will start it as a pilot project in collaboration with Central Road Research Institute.

About 25,000 metric tonnes of legacy waste will be used to construct an approximately one kilometer long road in Kalyanpuri. This will be the first unique project of any municipal corporation in the country to build a road from solid waste.

According to the information, a technical team from the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India along with senior representatives of East Delhi Municipal Corporation and Central Road Research Institute visited the three sites. Waste to Wealth Mission is one of the nine scientific missions of the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council, which focuses on identifying, testing and implementing technologies for converting waste to wealth.

The mission has identified the Ghazipur dumping site as a priority. In this pilot road, East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) will provide segregated waste from the landfill site for filling potholes and road construction, which will reduce the quantity of waste from the landfill site and reduce its height.

Roads can be built by using waste creatively. Also, the Central Road Research Institute will provide technical support in making this pilot road by giving its design.
