The dominance of Gujaratis does not remain like this, people of the same community bought 186 luxury cars
Gujarati community is famous all over the world for its business acumen and cleverness. Recently, this was proved again in Ahmedabad, when the Jain community bought a lot of luxury cars together under the initiative of Jain International Trade Organization (JITO).
According to the report of Times of India, these cars were 186 luxury cars ranging from Rs 60 lakh to Rs 1.34 crore. The total purchase price was Rs 149.54 crore, and the most important thing is that everyone together got a discount of Rs 21.22 crore.
Over 65,000 members across India
JITO has more than 65,000 members across India. This organization ties up with dealers of luxury brands like Audi, BMW, Mercedes. Even with electronics brands like Samsung. This gives members better deals.
Gujarati Jain members of Ahmedabad took maximum part in it. Himanshu Shah, Apex Vice Chairman, JITO, said, “Community buying gives us more bargaining power. Brands get guaranteed volumes and lower marketing expenses, while significant savings go to the members.” He said that in this one drive itself, cars worth Rs 149.54 crore were sold and a discount of Rs 21.22 crore was given.
These deals are not limited to cars only
This is not the first time that the Jain community has done this. Seeing the success, JITO has now started a separate vertical for community purchase. These deals will no longer be limited to cars. It is also spreading on electronics, medicines, jewelery and other products.
This trend did not stop only with the Jain community. Bharvad community of Gujarat also adopted it and took it a step forward. Bharwad Youth Organization Gujarat purchased 121 JCB machines. An average discount of Rs 3.3 lakh was received on each machine, i.e. a total saving of Rs 4 crore. President of the organization, Dilip Bharvad, said, “Our campaign encourages youth to be self-employed. Even those with low credit scores got JCBs with zero down payment. Only PAN and Aadhaar verification was done, and the community guaranteed repayment.” With this the youth will be able to start their own business.
These collective economic strategies of Gujarati communities are an example for the country. On one hand, saving by buying luxury cars, on the other hand, increasing employment by buying machines. This shows that community power can not only save money but also strengthen the society.
