Suryakumar Yadav 100 T20I Match: Suryakumar Yadav completed a ‘special’ century as soon as he entered the field at the time of toss in the first T20 match of the 5-match series against New Zealand. Suryakumar has become the fourth Indian cricketer to play 100 T20 International matches. Before this, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya have played 100 T20 International matches for India.

The first match of the five-match T20 series between India and New Zealand in Nagpur became special for Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav. This is the 100th T20 match of right-handed batsman Suryakumar for the Indian team. Since making his T20 debut for two-time T20 World Cup winners New Zealand against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in March 2021, Suryakumar Yadav has played 99 T20 matches so far and is playing his 100th match today at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium.
Suryakumar Yadav is the fourth cricketer after Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya to play 100 T20 matches for India. Rohit and Kohli have played 159 and 125 T20 International matches respectively for India, while this ongoing match in Nagpur is Hardik’s 125th T20 International match. Hardik has equaled Kohli in the list of players who have played most T20 International matches for India. The world record for playing most T20 international matches is in the name of Rohit Sharma. Rohit played 159 T20 International matches for India from 19 September 2007 to 29 June 2024. He participated in all the nine T20 World Cups played so far and under his captaincy, India made a record of 100% win in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav played a total of 21 T20 International matches for India in 2025. Could score only 218 runs in 19 innings. Last year, he could not score a single half-century for the world number one T20 International team and had to face a lot of criticism for his disappointing performance with the bat. But despite flop performances with the bat, he helped India win the T20 International series against England, Australia and South Africa and the Asia Cup 2025. That too with 100% win record. This Mumbai cricketer is getting a chance to captain India in the T20 World Cup 2026 starting from 7th February. He would like to silence his critics by performing brilliantly with the bat in the ongoing series against New Zealand.

Suryakumar Yadav has played 8 T20 International matches against New Zealand so far and has scored a total of 284 runs with the help of one century and one half-century. His batting average in the 20 over format against New Zealand is 47.33.
