Simple Energy shook the market! India’s first 400KM range scooter introduced
New Delhi. Simple Energy has expanded its electric two-wheeler range by launching the Gen 2 scooter series, the flagship of which is the Simple Ultra. The company claims that the Simple Ultra has an IDC-certified range of 400 kilometers, which is the longest range of any electric scooter in India. Along with this, the Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer has also introduced the updated Gen 2 versions of Simple One and Simple One S. At the top of the range is the Simple Ultra, which features a 6.5 kWh battery, the largest capacity in any Indian electric scooter so far. It has been designed to eliminate range anxiety. The performance of the Ultra is also impressive – it accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.77 seconds and has a top speed of 115 kmph. Simple Energy has described it as the second fastest electric scooter in India. Booking of Ultra has started in the showroom of Simple Energy.
Simple One Gen 2
The Simple One Gen 2 is now available with two battery options. The 4.5 kWh version has an IDC range of 236 km and its price starts at Rs 1,69,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Whereas, the range of 5 kWh variant is 265 km IDC and its starting price is Rs 1,77,999. Both versions are available for purchase immediately. Meanwhile, the Simple One S Gen 2 has also been updated, which now offers an IDC range of 190 km and is priced at Rs 1,49,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). A number of mechanical improvements have been made to the Gen 2 Simple One range. These scooters are now 8 kg lighter – taking their curb weight to 129 kg, while the motor output has increased to 8.8 kW in the high-spec version.
You will get plenty of space
A 1 liter front glovebox, dedicated charging port, new dashboard and new rider controls have also been added. Features like traction control, cruise control and four-level regenerative braking are also included in the package. Apart from this, underseat storage of 35 liters and a more convenient seat height of 780 mm is also provided.
How is the performance?
Performance varies depending on battery option. The 4.5 kWh Simple One Gen 2 has an output of 6.4 kW and 52 Nm, which accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds and its top speed is 90 kmph. In the 5 kWh version, output increases to 8.8 kW and 72 Nm – equivalent to the Ultra’s 115 km/h top speed and 0 to 40 km/h acceleration of just 2.55 seconds.
6 riding modes
Both variants offer six riding modes and are equipped with disc brakes and CBS. Many changes have also been made in Simple One S Gen 2. It has a 3.7 kWh battery, which gives an output of 6.5 kW and 52 Nm – its top speed is 90 kilometers per hour and accelerates from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in 3 seconds. Braking performance has also improved, stopping distance has now reduced to 18.49 metres, while seat height and storage capacity remain the same as the Simple One.

The Simple One Gen 2 has a 7-inch touchscreen display, while the One S Gen 2 has a non-touch display. Both have LTE and Bluetooth support with 5G e-SIM, features like OTA updates, navigation, TPMS, park assist and find my vehicle and are protected by IP65-rated hardware. The company offers lifetime warranty on motor and battery, as well as extended coverage on charger and vehicles.
