According to the decision of the Central Government, GST on bikes and scooters up to 350cc has been reduced from 28% to 18%. This simply means that now motorcycles of this category will be available 10 percent cheaper. However, the tax structure on bikes above 350cc has been increased, due to which their prices will be higher than before. The new rates will be applicable across the country from September 22.
Bablu Singh, owner of ‘RL Royal Enfield’ showroom located in Siwan, said that the customers will directly benefit from the reduction in GST rates. According to him, “Earlier 28% GST on bikes up to 350cc has now reduced to 18%. This will reduce the price of popular bikes like ‘Classic 350’ by an average of Rs 20 to 25 thousand.”
How affordable will ‘Royal Enfield Classic 350’ be?
The ex-showroom price of ‘Royal Enfield Classic 350’ currently ranges between Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 2.25 lakh. After 10% reduction in GST, the price of this bike will reduce by about 20-25 thousand rupees. At the same time, if we combine the finance options, customers are likely to save up to Rs 30 thousand in total.

Classic 350 is counted among the most popular motorcycles of Royal Enfield. It has a 349cc air-cooled engine of J-series, which generates power of 20.2 bhp and torque of 27 Nm. The bike includes modern features like 5-speed gearbox, dual-channel ABS, twin shock absorbers, analog-digital instrument cluster and USB charging port. With 13 liter fuel tank, this bike gives an average mileage of 41.55 kmpl.
