In many states, these schemes will start even before the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. However, the 21st installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana) has already been deposited in the accounts of farmers of four states Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Since these areas have suffered huge losses due to recent rains and floods, funds were released to these states first. Funds will soon be deposited for farmers of other states also.

Meanwhile, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has announced another big good news for the farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two new schemes at an event in Pusa area of ​​Delhi on October 11. These are ‘Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana’ and ‘Dalan Self-reliant Mission’. The minister said that both these schemes will help in increasing the income of farmers and increasing productivity.

Objectives of Dhan-Dhanya Yojana – Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that crop productivity is not the same in every region of the country. He said that districts with low productivity will be identified and special steps will be taken to increase productivity in them. Under this scheme, the focus will be on issues like irrigation, storage facilities, credit facilities and crop diversification. He said that 100 districts have been selected in the initial phase.

Importance of Pulses Mission – According to the Union Minister, although the country is a large producer of pulses, it is still dependent on imports. He said that the current production of pulses in the country is 242 lakh tonnes, and the target is to increase it to 350 lakh tonnes.

The Minister said that the focus is on developing high productivity, pest resistant and climate friendly seeds for pulse crops. He informed that 126 lakh quintals of certified seeds will be distributed to the farmers and 88 lakh free seed kits will be provided.

He said that by setting up processing units in pulses farming areas, farmers will get better prices. For this, 1,000 processing units will be set up and a subsidy of Rs 25 lakh will be given on each unit. The program will also include inauguration and foundation stone laying of projects in agricultural infrastructure fund, animal husbandry, fisheries and food processing sectors.

The minister said that both these schemes will be important for increasing the productivity, income growth and self-reliance of farmers. He said that the Center and the states will work together on the principle of “One Nation – One Agriculture – One Team”. Overall, the government will start these new programs with the aim of improving the future of farmers and taking the country towards food self-sufficiency.
