National President BC Bhartia and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal of Confederation of All India Traders (CAT), the country’s largest organization of traders, said that a survey was conducted by Shiprocket between September 1 and September 30 among 40816 traders in different states of the country. The survey has revealed that a new market is developing rapidly in the country through social media. According to the survey, about 17.96 percent of the new businessmen are using social media for business. Whereas 35.19 percent businessmen already doing business are using online websites. On the other hand, among the new businessmen, only 12.04 percent are doing business through offline market.

These goods were sold on social sites during Diwali
According to Praveen Khandelwal of CAT, in this festive atmosphere of Diwali, personal maintenance items (18.45 percent), food and grocery items (16.51), clothing (15.09), electronics (11.37), health (7.60), household items and cleaning items (4.59), and jewelery (3.83 percent) have been sold on social sites. This clearly shows that small traders are gradually expanding the scope of their business through social media, which is a good sign for the country.
