No sound, no content… still millions of views, 140 years long video becomes internet sensation, everyone is surprised

A completely blank video on YouTube is going viral on the internet these days, and the reason behind it is quite strange. Its duration is shown as 140 years on the thumbnail of the video. Yes, not hours or days but entire 140 years. This is why this video is completely surprising people.

This video was uploaded by a channel named @ShinyWR on January 5, 2026. Till now it has been viewed about 20 lakh times and about 28 thousand comments have been received on it. There is nothing to see or hear in the video. The screen remains completely blank, there is no sound and nothing happens even when played.

The matter becomes more interesting when someone plays the video. While the duration of 140 years is visible on the thumbnail, the length of the video becomes 12 hours as soon as you press play. Many users have told this in the comments so that people do not think that they will have to watch the video for hundreds of years.

The description of the video also deepens the mystery. It is written in Arabic letters, the alleged translation of which is – ‘Come, meet me in hell.’

Its screenshots went viral on social media platforms like Threads and X (formerly Twitter), where people started debating about its meaning.

Till now no clear answer has emerged regarding this video. Some people believe that this could be a technical glitch of YouTube or a test video which became public by mistake. At the same time, some users are considering it as a part of Alternate Reality Game (ARG), in which mysterious content is deliberately posted.

Many people have also noted that the channel claims to operate from North Korea and had joined YouTube in July 2023, which has further increased the suspense.

This is not the first time @ShinyWR has uploaded videos of strange length. Earlier, 294 hours and more than 300 hours long videos have also been uploaded on the channel. A user suggested on Threads that it could be similar to the old test channels, which were used for internal experiments on the platform.

Although a runtime of 140 years is extremely strange, longer videos have been seen on YouTube before. The longest known video on the platform is 596 hours long, which was uploaded in 2011.

Some users also took this whole matter humorously. One user asked how many ads could be shown in such a long video, while another reminded everyone that the actual playback time is only 12 hours.

For now, this blank video remains a mystery. It is not clear whether this is a glitch, a test or a deliberate prank. But it is certain that without showing even a single frame, this video has definitely won the curiosity of the Internet.
