Mohammad Kaif on Virat Kohli: Kaif said, BCCI should not pressure Virat Kohli to play domestic cricket.

New Delhi. Former captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli seems to be in the best phase of his career. Be it domestic cricket or international cricket, Kohli was seen keenly taking notice of the bowlers. If 2016 is considered to be Kohli’s best year in international cricket, then 2026 is also not far behind. On the instructions of BCCI, Kohli had to play Vijay Hazare Trophy. In this he scored one century and one half-century for Delhi. Last year, Kohli played for India after six months and it seemed as if he was never out of the team, he scored a lot of runs. Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has appealed to BCCI that Virat should not be forced to play domestic cricket.

Kohli scored his 85th international century in the third ODI against New Zealand. In which he scored 124 runs in 108 balls. This was his fourth century in his last eight 50-over matches, which also includes a century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif praised Kohli’s class and said that even though Kohli plays only occasionally, whenever he comes on the field, with his hard work, fitness, preparation and understanding of the game, he continuously scores runs and proves his importance.

    Virat Kohli

“Virat has now become a player who is seen only occasionally. But he comes, scores runs and then goes to London. That’s how it is now. He comes, scores runs and goes. Even when you are not playing regularly, it is not easy to score runs with such consistency. But it is his passion, his fitness, the pride of playing for the country, the understanding of the game and his own preparation. He has proved it,” Kaif said on his YouTube channel.

‘The passion that Kohli has, is not found in the market’

Kohli will now return to the Indian team for the ODI series against England in July. Meanwhile, Kaif suggested that since the former Indian captain has proved himself enough, he should no longer be forced to play domestic cricket.

Praising Virat Kohli’s unmatched passion and ability to win matches, Kaif said that there is no need for domestic matches for him, because his passion and skill enable him to face any challenge single-handedly and he motivates the team even in difficult situations.

“Now he doesn’t need to play domestic cricket. Anyone can practice for the matches, but the passion he has is not found in any market. Where will he get that from? There were the same expectations in the last match too. Virat can single-handedly defeat 10 players of the opposite team,” he said.
