Let children watch YouTube without any worries! Parents will be able to put a lock on watching the reel themselves, new feature has arrived

New Delhi. If you too are afraid of giving mobile phones to your children because they will waste time watching short videos on YouTube and other such content, then do not worry now. YouTube has given a new tool in the hands of parents to control the device and set limits on it. This Google-owned app has included some new features, with the help of which parents will be able to decide how much time their children can spend watching short videos.

This new feature update of YouTube has come with principles and creator guide, which will bring content according to the age of children and after setting the feature, children will be shown only those types of things which are appropriate for their age. Apart from this, the company has also updated the sign up process, so that parents can easily create separate accounts for their children. The new feature has also been started, which parents can use from now on.

How will the parent control feature work?
YouTube has said in its update that parents will now be able to customize the content for teenagers as well, so that they can watch only the content that is beneficial for them. Also, only parents will be able to decide how much time their children can spend on the short video option of YouTube. Once you set the time limit, the content will automatically stop coming as soon as the time passes. If parents want, they can also set it to zero, so that children cannot watch short videos.

Maximum 2 hours allowed
It will be in the hands of the parents as to how long their child can watch short videos on YouTube. If the mobile is in the child’s hand and not in front of the parent, then zero limit can be imposed on it. Due to this the child will not be able to watch short videos even if he wants to. However, if you are on a long journey and want the child to be entertained during the journey, then a maximum of 60 minutes can be allowed. To watch short videos, parents can set the option of 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours. Not only this, through the supervised feature present in the app, parents can also set reminders like custom bedtime and take a break, which will alert them after the time passes that now they can ask the child to turn off the mobile.

Content will be available according to age
YouTube has also included the option of providing content according to the age of children in its new feature. For example, there has been talk of bringing a creator guide regarding informative material for teenagers. Through this, YouTube will recommend teenagers to watch educational content available on educational platforms like Khan Academy, CrashCourse or TED-Ed.
