1. Checking the cooling system and coolant

3. Take special care of tires
In summer, tires become too hot, due to which the pressure increases and there is a risk of bursting. Check tire pressure every week (in the morning in a cold tire) and do not exceed the pressure recommended by the car’s manual. Check the tread depth of tyres, if less, replace it. Avoid parking in the sun for long periods. Keep the car in the shade. Keep tires clean and avoid sidewall cracks.
4. Battery check
Heat reduces battery life. Check and clean corrosion on terminals. If you have a water battery, top up with distilled water. Get the battery tested, if it is weak then get a new one installed. The battery can discharge quickly in summer, so get the alternator checked also.
5. Maintain fluid level
Check engine oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid and windshield washer fluid regularly. Oil becomes thin in summer, so use right grade oil and change it on time. Keep all fluids topped up, so parts run smoothly.
