The livestream of the launch event, named “Awe inspiring”, will begin at 10:30 PM IST on September 9, 2025. Although nothing is mentioned in the teaser except the date, the accompanying photo shows what appears to be the Apple logo in liquid glass. From this, the color of the upcoming iPhone 17 series and other accessories can be estimated. So without wasting any time, let us know what is special in Apple’s September 9 launch event:

iPhone 17 series
This year, Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 series may include four variants: the standard iPhone 17, the new and ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air, the feature-packed iPhone 17 Pro, and the maxed-out iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The base iPhone 17 has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling very smooth. It’s powered by the new A19 chip and 8GB of RAM and includes Apple Intelligence, making Siri interactions and photo editing smarter. Camera upgrades include a 48MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor that offers 2x optical zoom and 4K video recording. The selfie camera may have a 24MP front sensor. There may also be action buttons for additional features such as camera controls and customizable shortcuts. Storage is likely to start at 256GB, and the iPhone 17 could have a starting price of $849, or Rs 89,999.

iPhone 16 Plus is now being replaced by iPhone 17 Air, which is Apple’s thinnest phone till date, whose thickness is only 5.5mm and weight is 145 grams. Its 6.6-inch LTPO OLED screen will support 120Hz refresh rate and will come in a titanium-glass body. It will have an A19 chip and 12GB RAM, and it may offer a single 48MP rear camera, which will be capable of 2x zoom and 4K video recording. It will also have an Apple C1 modem for better connectivity and a non-centered USB-C port. The 2,900mAh battery and 25W MagSafe charging may limit its practicality a bit. iPhone 17 Air will be available in black, silver, gold and light blue colors, with the price starting at $949 or Rs 99,999.

For power users, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max come with pro-grade specifications. Both have LTPO OLED displays – 6.3 inches in the Pro and 6.9 inches in the Pro Max – with 120Hz ProMotion variable refresh rate displays and anti-reflective coatings. The A19 Pro chip, 12GB RAM and vapor chamber cooling will ensure no interruption in multitasking and gaming. The camera setup features a triple 48MP sensor setup – one for the main, one for ultra-wide and one for telephoto, which has 5x optical zoom. The camera setup is also rumored to have mechanical variable aperture for creative depth control and 8K video recording. The Pro Max has a 5,000mAh battery, supports 35W wired and 25W MagSafe wireless charging, and can have up to 1TB of storage. The price of iPhone 17 Pro is expected to start at $1,049 and the Pro Max at $1,249. A new orange color and a dark blue shade will also differentiate these from the regular variants.

All iPhone 17 models will launch with iOS 26.

New Apple Watch models
The Apple Watch Series 11, which will replace the Series 10, will retain its familiar design, but adds a new sky blue color option. Based on S11 chip and supporting 5G, this watch will run on watchOS 26 at the time of launch. As part of the new health monitoring suite, the Watch Series 11 will introduce blood pressure monitoring as well as ECG and blood oxygen saturation monitoring, providing more accurate health information than ever before.

For budget-friendly consumers, the Apple Watch SE 3 adopts a new design with a larger display like the Series 8, powered by the older S10 chip and the newer watchOS 26. While the Watch SE may not have ECG and SpO2 monitoring, the sleep apnea detection feature could make it more useful for Apple Watch users.

For adventure lovers, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 may retain its sturdy build but upgrade to a larger display with 422×514 pixel resolution and LTPO 3 technology, which delivers always-on refresh every second. This may include exclusive watch faces, wide-angle OLED screen, new S11 chip, 5G and satellite connectivity and blood pressure monitoring.

home accessories
Apple is making changes to its home accessories. Apple TV 4K is being updated with new hardware. This smart TV streaming box will have A17 Pro chip, which will support Apple Intelligence. This will bring improvements to Siri, actor recognition in shows, and personalized recommendations on tvOS 26.

AirTag 2, which will replace the controversial AirTag, can increase its accuracy range to 90 meters (previously 30 meters) – this will be possible due to the new wireless chip, better privacy and next-generation UWB.

The HomePod mini for 2025 will feature a new in-house networking chip that will support Wi-Fi 6E, making it a wireless access point and improving audio quality. And finally, Apple will upgrade its flagship headset with new internals. The Apple Vision Pro 2 will have the M4 chip, the new visionOS 26 and a new comfortable strap for long-term use.
