Fair of car buyers on Navratri-Dussehra, dealers sweat in delivery

Festive Car Sales 2025: GST relief and Navratri-Dussehra celebrations are turning the common man’s dream of buying a car into reality. Even if there is a slight delay in delivery, the happiness and enthusiasm of the people is clearly visible in every showroom.

After GST reduction and discounts given by companies, people are buying cars extensively in this festive season. Common people are eager to bring home a new car on the auspicious time of Navratri and Dussehra, but the increasing demand has also increased the troubles of the dealers. At many places in Gujarat, vehicles have been booked so much that customers may have to wait for delivery. Dealers say that the environment of price clarity and discounts has inspired customers who have been postponing purchases for a long time, to take immediate decisions.
These days there is a rush of customers in the showrooms of Gujarat. Many customers say that Dussehra is considered to be the most auspicious day to buy a car and when the government has given relief on the prices, then this is the right opportunity to buy your car. A young customer visiting a car showroom in Ahmedabad said, “We were thinking of buying an SUV for months, but were put off by rising prices. Now the GST relief and festive offers have boosted our courage. We have booked the car, hopefully it will be in hand before Diwali.”
Record booking with dealers
According to a report in Times of India, according to Pranab Shah, Gujarat Chairman of FADA, an organization of automobile dealers, this time the bookings have been more than expected. Especially in the SUV and compact SUV segment, there is huge interest from customers. He said, “The festive season is always good, but this time the GST cut has taken sales to new heights. Dealers are continuously taking bookings and in many places one may have to wait for a long time for delivery.”

However, due to supply chain issues, delivery of many popular models is not possible immediately. Most dealers have limited stock and even manufacturers are not able to deliver vehicles on time. But despite this the enthusiasm of the customers has not diminished. Jigar Vyas, another dealer in the city, says, “People are booking in large numbers to take advantage of the festive offers and auspicious time. Many customers know that they will not get the car on Dussehra, yet they are booking so that they can get a new car on Diwali or after.”
