Ather Energy launches Infinite Cruise system in 450X, which comes with CityCruise, Hill Control and Crawl Control modes and will be available to 44,000 customers through OTA update. The special thing is that this update will be available only to those customers who have purchased this scooter after January 1. Infinite cruise control system works at speeds of 10 to 90 km.
New Delhi. Ather Energy has introduced the new Infinite Cruise system on its 450X electric scooter, further increasing the range of software-based features in the company’s product lineup. This feature was first launched on the Ather 450 Apex in August 2025 and is now being made available on 450X models via over-the-air (OTA) updates. This feature will be available as standard in newly built units.
Infinite Cruise Feature
The company says that Infinite Cruise can be considered as a new form of traditional cruise control. It has been specifically designed for urban roads and not for highways. Cruise control systems usually work at high speeds, but this feature of Ather is designed for Indian cities, where scooters often run at speeds less than 30 kmph and have to face traffic, bad roads and different speed requirements.
Different feature from normal cruise control
Ather Energy said that Infinite Cruise is different from traditional systems because it remains active even when braking or accelerating. Rather than disengage completely, the system automatically adjusts to the scooter’s new speed, eliminating the need for repeated re-engagement. This feature reduces throttle fatigue and helps maintain smooth control in stop-and-go traffic.
Works in the speed range of 10 to 90 km per hour
This system works in a speed range of 10 to 90 kmph and has three main modes: CityCruise, Hill Control and Crawl Control. CityCruise adjusts the vehicle’s speed according to traffic, while Hill Control maintains a constant speed on climbs and descents and uses Ather’s Magic Braking Algorithm for regenerative braking. Crawl Control provides stability to the scooter at very low speeds, especially on bad or bumpy roads. It also has Multimode Traction Control, which improves grip on slippery roads.

According to the company, the Infinite Cruise update will be available to about 44,000 Ather 450X owners who have purchased their scooter after January 1, 2025. This backward compatibility is possible because of the product planning and hardware decisions made during the development of the 450 Series in 2025.
