Splendor dominated sales
According to the sales data of September 2025, Hero Splendor has overtaken Honda Shine. Splendor not only retained the title of the country’s best-selling motorcycle, but it also sold almost double the units of Shine.

Best sales of Hero Splendor
Hero Splendor sold 3,82,383 units in September 2025, which is a slight but strong growth of 1.73% compared to 3,75,886 units in September 2024 last year. The main reasons for its success are its reliability, low maintenance and strong hold in both rural and urban areas. Customers like its simple design and excellent mileage. It is light in weight and easy to operate. Even elderly people can operate it easily.

Honda Shine sales improve
Honda Shine recorded total sales of 1,85,059 units in September 2025. Although the sales are less than Splendor, Shine has improved its performance. Compared to last year’s 1,81,835 units in September 2024, Shine has achieved a growth of 1.77%. Interestingly, despite low sales numbers, Honda Shine’s market share was 1.77%, which is slightly more than Splendor (1.73%). This shows that its share in the total sales of this segment in the market is better than Splendor.

In terms of total number of sales, Hero Splendor has overtaken Honda Shine by a huge margin. The sales of Splendor were almost twice the sales of Shine, making it the best selling motorcycle in the two-wheeler segment of India.
