TVS Orbiter V1 Electric Scooter: Priced from ₹49,999, launched with 86Km range and BaaS scheme

TVS Motor Company has introduced TVS Orbiter V1 to strengthen its hold in the electric scooter segment in the Indian market. This scooter is specially designed keeping in mind the customers who want a smart and reliable electric vehicle at an affordable price. The biggest feature of this scooter is the BaaS scheme.

Due to this, the starting ex-showroom price of Orbiter V1 has come down to only ₹ 49,999, while its normal price with battery is around ₹ 84,500 (Delhi ex-showroom). Under the BaaS model, customers have to pay a rental of approximately ₹ 862 per month for the battery, which offers a warranty of 5 years or 70,000 km and unlimited usage. Design and dimensions

In terms of design, TVS Orbiter V1 is quite modern and practical. It has an 845 mm long flat seat, which ensures a comfortable journey for both the rider and the pillion. The front look of the scooter is quite premium, with attractive LED headlamps and DRLs along with an attractive visor.

Apart from this, it has a large under-seat storage of 34-litres, which can easily accommodate two half face helmets. Due to its light weight (101 kg) it becomes very easy to drive and park in heavy city traffic. It is available in vibrant colors like Martian Copper and Stellar Silver.

Battery, Motor and Range

Orbiter V1 has a 1.8 kWh IP-67 rated lithium-ion battery. This scooter can cover a distance of 86 km (IDC range) once fully charged, which is enough for urban commuting. The hub-mounted electric motor in it takes it to a maximum speed of 68 km/hour.

Keeping in mind the convenience of charging, the company has given it fast charging support, due to which it takes only 2 hours 20 minutes to charge its battery from 0 to 80%. This scooter comes with two riding modes – Eco and Power, through which the rider can choose the range or speed as per his need.

Specifications and features

The Orbiter V1 is equipped with a colored LCD instrument cluster, which supports Bluetooth connectivity through the TVS SmartXonnect app. Through this, the rider gets facilities like turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts and geo-fencing.

Apart from this, for safety and convenience, it has been provided with advanced features like hill hold assist, cruise control and parking assist. Overall, TVS Orbiter V1 is a package of low price, excellent storage and smart technology that middle class families may like.
