- After this, an OTP will come on your mobile number which is registered in the RTO.
- As soon as you enter the OTP, a digital copy of your RC will appear on the screen.
Will this digital RC work everywhere?
This is a big question which often comes in people’s mind. The answer is, yes! As per Government of India rules, digital documents (such as copies in DigiLocker or M-Parivahan app) are fully valid during traffic checking. You can show it to the police. However, it is always a safe option to keep a printed copy of it with you when dealing with any major paperwork or selling the vehicle.
Keep mobile number updated
The most important link in this entire process is your mobile number. If the number you gave while taking your vehicle is now switched off, then OTP will not come and you will not be able to download the RC. In such a situation, you will have to first go to the portal and update your mobile number.
