Yamaha EC-06 Electric Scooter Launch in India, Know Price and Features.
Yamaha has launched its first electric scooter Yamaha EC-06 in the Indian market. The company has developed this scooter in partnership with River Mobility and it is based on River Indie. However, it has Yamaha’s own design, features and branding. It has been designed for city and inter-urban (outside the city) commuting, which will target young and tech-savvy riders.

The ex-showroom price of Yamaha EC-06 is ₹ 1,67,600 (in states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu etc.). It comes in the premium segment, where it will compete with scooters like Ather, Ola, TVS iQube. This price can reduce further with PLI scheme and government subsidy. Governments of different states also provide subsidies.
Design
The design of EC-06 is modern, sporty and premium. It is inspired by the River Indie, but looks different in Yamaha’s style. It has futuristic LED headlights, day-time running lights (DRL), full LED lighting system, large LCD display and smart connectivity features. The body lines are sharp and aggressive, making it attractive for the youth.
Underseat storage is 24.5 litres, which is enough for a helmet and small luggage. Tubeless tyres, double disc brakes and good ground clearance make it suitable for city roads and mild off-road. Three riding modes (Eco, Normal, Sport) are available, which balance performance and range.
Features
This scooter is equipped with many advanced features. It has mobile app integration with Bluetooth connectivity, so riders can check navigation, call alerts, battery status, location tracking. There are LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, reverse mode and smart charging options. The braking system consists of double disc brakes, which provide safe stopping.
Battery, Motor & Range
The EC-06 has a 4 kWh battery pack, which is connected to a BLDC (Brushless DC) motor. The peak power of the motor is 6.7 kW (about 9 hp), while the maximum torque is 26 Nm. Top speed is up to 79-90 km/h. According to Indian Driving Cycle (IDC), the range is 169 km, whereas in real-world it can be achieved up to 150-160 km. Charging time is 10 hours for 0-100% and 8 hours for 0-80%. There is a warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km on the battery.
