New Delhi. After the Central Government reduced GST on small cars and motorcycles, almost all the companies including Maruti-Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hyundai have reduced the prices of their vehicles. The new prices will come into effect from midnight today. GST on petrol, LPG and CNG cars up to 1,200 cc and diesel cars up to 1,500 cc (length less than 4,000 mm) has been reduced from 28% to 18%.
Motorcycles up to 350 cc will also attract 18% GST. Along with all cars above 1,200 cc and longer than 4,000 mm, motorcycles and racing cars above 350 cc will now attract 40% GST. GST on vehicle parts has been reduced from 28% to 18%, due to which vehicle repair and maintenance will now be cheaper. Apart from cars and bikes, the government has also reduced GST on buses, trucks, ambulances and three-wheelers from 28 percent to 18 percent.
Price of Thar and Scorpio decreased
Following the government’s GST cut announcement, Mahindra & Mahindra has reduced the ex-showroom prices of its entire ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) SUV line-up. Mahindra has not only given the benefit of GST cut to the customers, it is also now offering additional discounts on popular models like Bolero, Bolero Neo, XUV 3XO, Thar, Thar Rocks, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N and XUV700.

Suzuki Motorcycle India reduced the rate
After the announcement of GST reforms, Suzuki Motorcycle India on Friday announced a price cut of its two-wheelers by up to Rs 18,000 from September 22. According to the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, the price of the Giskar SF 250 model is getting the maximum price cut of Rs 18,024. After this, the price of V-Strom SX is being reduced by Rs 17,982, the price of Gixxer 250 is being reduced by Rs 16,525 and the price of Gixxer is being reduced by Rs 11,520.
