Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Launch Date: Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone! Yes, you heard it right. Samsung, which launched the first mass-market foldable smartphone with the Galaxy Fold in 2019, is now preparing to launch a tri-fold device. However, the company lagged behind in terms of triple-screen foldables, as Huawei launched the Huawei Mate XT in late 2024, before Samsung.
The tri-fold smartphone has been in the news through various leaks, although the company is yet to confirm its official launch date. According to earlier reports, it will be called Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold and this foldable device may be officially launched later this month. Samsung is reportedly planning another event in South Korea, where it may unveil its upcoming XR headset and AI-powered smart glasses along with the tri-fold phone.
However, according to tipster Ice Universe, it has been claimed on Weibo that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Trifold in South Korea on September 29. Along with the tri-fold smartphone, the company may also introduce its Project Muhan XR headset and a new pair of AI-powered smart glasses, which are being called Galaxy Glasses, at the same Galaxy Unpacked launch event.
Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold: Display
Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone is rumored to be limited to China and South Korea and the company is expected to produce 3 lakh (or less) units. It may have a G-style design with inward folding. When fully unfolded, it can have a 9.96-inch display. In folded state it can offer a 6.54-inch display.
Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold: Battery and processor
The Galaxy Z TriFold is likely to have a silicon-carbon battery. It may have Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and may come with a triple camera unit. It can run on Android 16 with One UI 8 skin. Earlier it was rumored to be launched with the name Samsung “Galaxy G Fold”.
Samsung first showed a glimpse of its tri-fold smartphone during the Galaxy Unpacked event in January. Recently, mobile chief TM Roh hinted that the device is set for an official launch before the end of this year. It is expected to compete with smartphones like the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design and the upcoming Huawei Mate XTs, which is scheduled to launch in China on September 4.
