Now Arattai app which competes with WhatsApp will run on smart TV also, know the complete method of using it
Zoho’s messaging app Arattai is now available for smart TV users in India. The company has officially announced that Arattai can now be used on the Android TV platform. This means that now users will be able to make video calls and online meetings on the big screen of the TV installed in their living room. This step is special for those who are looking for a secure and working messaging app other than WhatsApp.
Till now Arattai could be used only on mobile and computer, but after coming on Android TV, its use has become even easier. Especially people working from home or small business users may find meetings on TV more comfortable.
How will Arattai work on Android TV?
- Arattai app can be downloaded directly from Google Play Store for Android TV.
- After installation, a QR code will appear on the TV screen.
- The user will have to scan this QR code from the Arattai app present in his mobile.
- After this the account will be connected to the TV and the app will be ready to use.
Arattai’s main focus on TV is on video meetings. Users can see a list of their upcoming meetings, make video calls and even watch pre-recorded meetings on the big screen.
Camera and microphone support
If your TV does not have an in-built camera or microphone, then there is no problem. The Arattai Android TV version supports external webcam and microphone via USB. Before using the app, the TV will ask you for camera and mic permissions, like other Android apps.
There will be complete security
Zoho claims that the end-to-end encryption standard available in Arattai is the same as WhatsApp and Signal. Now this security feature is also available in personal chats. However, this feature will not be on by default, users will have to activate it manually by going to Settings.
On which TV will it play?
The Arattai app will work on Android TV with Android 7 or above. The company says that more features will be added in the coming time.
In the end, it would not be wrong to say that Arattai’s arrival on Android TV can become a new and useful option for those users who want secure messaging as well as video meeting experience on the big screen.
