New Delhi. The demand for electric vehicles (EV) is increasing rapidly in the Indian automobile market. To capitalize on this growing demand, Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its much-awaited electric SUV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. Equipped with attractive looks, modern technology and strong performance, this car is not only the cheapest electric SUV in Mahindra’s portfolio, but it can also prove to be a game-changer in the mid-range EV segment. The starting price of Mahindra XUV 3XO EV SUV has been kept at Rs 13.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Its direct competition is being considered with Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor. Both these models already have a strong hold in the mid-range segment.

Just a day after launching the XUV 7XO, Mahindra has launched the XUV 3XO EV in the market. This shows that the company no longer wants to be limited to only petrol and diesel engines, but also wants to become a strong player in the electric SUV segment. Mahindra has given a new option to those customers who were looking for an affordable and modern electric car from a trusted brand. Mahindra has chosen the platform of its successful petrol model for the XUV 3XO EV. More than 1.8 lakh units of the XUV 3XO have been sold since its launch in April 2024. Seeing this success and the trust of the customers, the company has entered the electric segment with the same name and platform.

Modern and futuristic look

The design of Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is inspired by its petrol version, but many changes have been made in it which give it the unique identity of an electric vehicle.

• Premium Appeal: It has a single pane sunroof, which gives a feeling of natural light and openness inside the cabin.
• Wheels and Lighting: The car has been provided with R16 diamond cut alloy wheels which give it a muscular stance. Additionally, the LED projector headlamps, signature LED taillamps and LED DRLs with turn indicators give it a stunning look even in the dark of night.
• Visibility: Its aerodynamic shape and superior lighting setup not only enhance the looks but also ensure clear visibility while driving.

XUV 3XO EV Interior and Luxury Features

As soon as you step inside the cabin, you get to see the perfect balance of technology and comfort. Mahindra has left no stone unturned in making the interior premium.

Display: It has two large 10.25 inch HD screens. One screen is for the infotainment system, while the other serves as a completely digital instrument cluster.

Connectivity: Adrenox system with wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and inbuilt Alexa makes it a smart car.

Comfort and Convenience: Dual zone climate control, separate AC vents for the rear passengers, armrest and 60:40 split seats make it extremely comfortable for long journeys. It also includes features like wireless charging, auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers.

XUV 3XO EV battery pack, range and performance

The most important part of any electric car is its battery and range. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV does not disappoint customers on this front. It has a powerful battery pack of 39.4 kWh. The company claims that it can cover a distance of about 285 kilometers on a single charge in real world conditions. This range is enough for everyday use within the city and visiting nearby tourist destinations.

Its electric motor generates power of 110 kW and torque of 310 Nm. This powerful torque helps it to overtake quickly in traffic. The company claims that it is the fastest SUV in its segment, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds. It has three driving modes named ‘Fun’, ‘Fast’ and ‘Fearless’.

Fast charging and suspension technology

To remove the worry of charging during long journeys, Mahindra has provided the facility of fast charging in XUV 3XO EV. With a 50 kW DC fast charger, this car can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 50 minutes. Apart from this, for smooth ride, it uses advanced suspension technologies like ‘Frequency Dependent Damping’ (FDD) and MTV-VAL, which reduces shocks even on bad roads.

Safety and smart technology

Mahindra has always been a leader in the matter of safety. Strong security arrangements have been made in the XUV 3XO EV. It has level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). It has features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Auto Emergency Braking and Smart Pilot Assist which reduce the chances of an accident. To make parking easier, it has been provided with 360 degree surround view system.

The car has been provided with more than 35 standard safety features like 6 airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It has more than 80 connected car features, so you can monitor the status of the car through your smartwatch and take advantage of remote control features.

Variants and price

Mahindra has introduced XUV 3XO EV in two main variants so that customers with different budgets can buy it.

• AX5 Variants: Its starting price is Rs 13.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
  AX7L Variants: This is the top-end model whose price goes up to Rs 14.96 lakh (ex-showroom).
