Tata Punch Facelift 2026 Launch: Tata Punch Facelift launched, will reach speed from 0 to 100 km in 11 seconds
New Delhi. Tata Motors has officially launched the new Tata Punch facelift in India today on 13th January. Prices for the new Tata Punch start at ₹5.59 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with this, the company has also introduced India’s first iCNG AMT SUV. The updated Tata Punch facelift accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 11.1 seconds. Major changes have also been made in the new Punch in terms of interior. It now has a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated elements. Touch-based AC controls have been placed below the screen, giving the cabin a more modern and premium look than before.
With its new look, turbo engine and advanced features, the 2026 Tata Punch is set to top the sales charts once again. It will compete mainly with Hyundai Exter in the market. Apart from this, it will also give tough competition to cars like Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
New exterior: sharp and modern look
Many important changes have been made in the exterior design of the 2026 Tata Punch facelift which takes it closer to big Tata SUVs like Safari and Harrier. The front fascia has been completely redesigned while retaining its signature boxy shape. The changes that have taken place outside include-
- Front Look: Now it has very thin and sleek LED DRLs which are located at the top. The main headlight unit has now been shifted lower into the bumper and new LED lamps have been used in it.
- Side and Rear: Newly designed 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are available in the side profile of the car. The biggest change at the rear is in its taillights, where the setup of connected LED taillamps will now be seen, which gives it a premium feel at night.
Refreshed interior
Tata has made the cabin of the new Punch more modern and comfortable. The design of the dashboard has been redesigned and soft-touch materials have been used in it. The biggest change is its new two-spoke steering wheel. Like Tata’s new cars, this one too has a gloss black finish with Tata’s ‘illuminated’ logo in the centre.
For the seats, the company has chosen a new dual-tone combination of ‘grey and blue’, which makes the cabin look more airy and fresh. Also, now the AC control unit has been changed to a touch-based interface, which gives a feeling of luxury inside the car.
Punch 2026 is fully loaded with features

Tata Punch has always been a safe car, but now it is trying to be at the forefront of its segment in terms of features as well. Several ‘first-in-segment’ features have been added to the 2026 model:-
- Infotainment: It has a new 10.25-inch large touchscreen, which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
- Driver Display: A 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster has been provided for the driver.
360-degree camera: It now also includes a 360-degree camera system to make parking in tight spaces easier. - other facilities: Features like voice-assisted sunroof, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control and rain-sensing wipers will be available in the top variants.
Tata Punch Engine and Performance

The biggest news of 2026 Tata Punch is its new engine option. Tata Motors has now decided to include a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine in it. This will be a great option for those customers who want more power and better driving experience in a micro SUV. Apart from this, the old and reliable 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine will also be available, which will come with manual and AMT gearbox options.
6 airbags will be available in all variants
Tata Punch is known for its 5-star safety rating. Further strengthening the safety in the 2026 facelift, 6 airbags have now been made standard (across all variants). Apart from this, features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS with EBD, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Rear Parking Camera keep it one of the safest cars in its segment.
