Kiwi is being marketed in the markets across the country-On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Parshottam Rupala said that today the farmers of Nagaland are marketing Kiwi with the traders of big cities of the country, this is a pleasant sign. He said that foreign fruits should be produced here and their import should be reduced, this is also a step in the direction of Self-reliant India campaign. Emphasis was also laid on forming a separate farmer producer organization in Nagaland for kiwi fruit.

Kiwi boosted Nagaland’s economy-Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Food Processing Minister Narendra Singh Tomar says that Nagaland and other north-eastern states are playing a leading role in the production of exotic fruits like Kiwi. Along with increasing the income of farmers here due to kiwi production, the field of horticulture has also expanded. The economy of the state has also got a boost. He said that the state government and the Agriculture Ministry should work towards ensuring that Nagaland gets the status of ‘Kiwi State’.
Union Minister Tomar said this while addressing the value chain creation program for Kiwi organized by the Central Institute of Horticulture, Nagaland. He said that this step of Nagaland is going to bring happiness to the country. This has added a new dimension to the agriculture sector and the farmers there will definitely benefit from it.
10 thousand crore rupees given in the field of food processing-Union Minister Shri Tomar said that agriculture has been a priority subject for PM Narendra Modi since the beginning. Work is being done for the last 6 and a half years under the leadership of PM in this direction to increase the income of farmers, increase in produce production, diversification of crops, food processing and farmers moving towards cultivation of expensive crops. Under the Self-reliant India campaign, a provision of Rs 10 thousand crore has been made in the field of food processing. Now there is a need that the Centre, State and related institutions should work together to deliver the benefits of all these schemes to the farmers.
