    Sarfaraz Khan smashes 17th century: Sarfaraz Khan has started the year with a bang. Playing for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy match, he scored a brilliant century against Hyderabad.     Sarfaraz Khan-Siddesh Lad made a partnership of 249 runs
    Thanks to the brilliant innings of Sarfaraz Khan (142 not out) and captain Siddhesh Lad (104), Mumbai scored 332 runs for four wickets on the first day. Mumbai started well with an opening partnership of 60 runs. But lost three wickets within the next 22 runs, one of which was taken by the new captain Mohammad Siraj. Sarfaraz and Lad batted for almost 50 overs and made a partnership of 249 runs for the fourth wicket. After which Lad was out LBW on the ball of Rohit Rayudu. Sarfaraz, batting at a fast pace, hit nine fours and four sixes in his innings and his strike rate at the end of the day’s play was 83.74, while Lad neutralized Mumbai’s attack with the help of 10 fours and two sixes in 179 balls.
