Instagram has introduced a big update for Indian creators. This social media platform owned by Meta has now announced to extend its AI Voice Translate feature to five new Indian languages. Soon users will be able to translate reels into Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi languages also. However, the company has clarified that this feature will be rolled out in these languages in the coming months.

Earlier in October 2025, Instagram had given the facility to dub and lip-sync Reels in other languages including English, Hindi, Spanish and Portuguese. Now the addition of Indian languages will greatly help the content creators of the country to reach the global audience.

Meta says that through this feature, creators can change their voice into different languages, but the tone and emotion of their voice will remain the same. This will make the reels look more natural and real. Apart from this, lip-sync feature will also be available, due to which the translated voice will match the movement of the creator’s lips.

How will the Translate Reels feature work?
When users upload a reel on Instagram, they will see the option to ‘Translate your voice with Meta AI’. Currently this feature is available in limited languages, but after the update new Indian languages will also be added to it.

Indian fonts included in Edits app
Instagram has also announced that Indian fonts are now being added to its Edits app. Users will be able to style text and captions in Devanagari and Bengali, Assamese scripts in languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and Assamese. This update will be released for Android users in the coming days. With this update, Indian creators will get an opportunity to create better and attractive content in their own language.
