Allah is the master ahead... Has Mohammed Shami given up hope of comeback?Mohammed Shami’s reaction on his return to Team India

New Delhi: Fast bowler Mohammed Shami is once again in the news for his return to Team India. Shami last played for the Indian team in the Champions Trophy in March last year. His performance in the tournament was strong, but since then he has not been able to get a chance in the national team. After being out of Team India, Shami has also done tremendous work on his fitness, but despite this, the selectors have cited fitness as the reason behind Shami’s exclusion from the team.

However, Shami strengthened his claim in domestic cricket by performing brilliantly for Bengal first in the Ranji Trophy, then in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and then in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, but still he was not selected for the series against England, South Africa and New Zealand. In such a situation, one of his recent reactions on his return to Team India is going viral on social media. Answering the media’s questions on his return, Shami said, “It is a job to work hard, I am working hard. Allah is the master ahead.”

Has Mohammed Shami given up hope?

Shami’s recent reaction clearly shows that he has not given up hope yet. 35 year old Shami is continuously taking wickets in domestic cricket. Apart from this, he is also focusing on improving his fitness. Last year, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar had commented on Shami’s fitness, due to which there was a lot of uproar. Shami, while replying to Agarkar’s comment, had said that if he is bowling 10 overs in a 50 overs match then he can bowl in Tests also.

Shami, however, did not take Agarkar’s name but his reply was to the Chief Selector only. Shami has also declared himself fit in front of the media, but in the eyes of the selectors, this fast bowler of Team India is not fitting into their plans. This is the reason why it is now believed that Shami’s return to Team India is looking difficult, but Shami has still lost hope.
