Suryakumar Yadav Form: Runs are not being scored with the bat, when asked about his poor form, Suryakumar Yadav started giving vague answers.
Nagpur: Suryakumar Yadav may be a hit as a captain, but as a batsman he is going through the worst form of his career. Surya, who has been struggling to score runs for some time, will be desperate to return to form in the five-match T20 series against New Zealand starting today. Suryakumar took over the captaincy of the T-20 team in 2024, after which India’s winning percentage jumped to more than 72. Due to this, the captain’s poor performance in batting did not get much attention. But now it is not so, questions are being raised on his failure. On the eve of the match, journalists questioned his form. The match will start at seven in the evening.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav very wisely said that individual form does not matter for the team. He said:
If I had played an individual game like table tennis or tennis, I would have worried about my form, but this is a team game and my first responsibility is to make sure the team does well. If the team wins then I am happy and if I can contribute to the team’s success then it is fine. Even if I can’t do it, it doesn’t matter, it can happen, but I have to think about the remaining 14 players as well and there is no room for individual records.
Suryakumar Yadav’s poor form has been the weak link of the team. He did not score a single half-century in the last 19 matches and scored only 218 runs, his strike rate was more than 123. To give Tilak Verma a chance to play more, Suryakumar shifted himself from number three to number four. Suryakumar knows that his poor performance can have an impact in the dressing room and now he will have to play well at any cost. In any other team, a player like Shreyas Iyer would have easily got a place in the T-20 International team, because he has taken three different IPL teams to the finals and even won once.
