In the latest update released on Wednesday, Mitchell has reached number 1 with 845 points, while Virat Kohli (795) has slipped to second place. This is the second time that Mitchell has achieved the number 1 ranking in ODI cricket. Earlier in November, he remained on top for only three days, after which former Indian captain Rohit Sharma left him behind. Recently, Mitchell performed brilliantly against India and led New Zealand to a historic 2-1 ODI series win. Continuing his excellent form against India, he scored two centuries and a half-century. Now he is behind only AB de Villiers (five) in terms of scoring the most ODI centuries against India.
